Jinggoy Estrada

Jose Pimentel Ejercito Jr., widely known as Jinggoy Estrada, is a prominent Filipino actor, film producer, and politician. He is the son of former Philippine President and renowned action star Joseph 'Erap' Estrada and former Senator Luisa Pimentel-Ejercito. Jinggoy stepped into the entertainment industry during the golden age of Philippine action cinema in the mid-1980s, building a solid filmography centered around high-octane action thrillers, crime dramas, and socially conscious biographical narratives. Over the course of his acting career, Estrada earned critical acclaim and several industry accolades, including multiple nominations and awards from the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) and the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Among his most notable performances was his starring role in the dramatic film 'Katas ng Saudi' (2007), which won him Best Actor honors for portraying the struggles of an Overseas Filipino Worker returning home. His film credits also feature action blockbusters such as 'Markang Bungo: The Bobby Barbers Story', 'Kanto Boy 2: Anak ni Totoy Golem', and 'Bagkat: The Untold Story of a Hero'. Balancing life in the limelight with public service, Estrada successfully transitioned into national politics, serving as Mayor of San Juan before being elected to multiple terms in the Senate of the Philippines. Despite his heavy political obligations, he has periodically returned to cinema and television, maintaining his status as one of the recognizable figures bridging Philippine political life and the entertainment industry.
