9 End 2 Outs

Hong Nan-hee and Byun Hyung-tae are lifelong friends who have known each other since childhood, sharing an awkward and platonic bond as they navigate the struggles of turning thirty. Nan-hee works as an advertising copywriter dreaming of becoming a novelist, while Hyung-tae is a cynical baseball-loving advertising agency team leader who views life with detachment. When circumstances force them to move in together as housemates, the boundary between lifelong friendship and deep-seated romantic feelings begins to blur. The series uses baseball as a metaphor for entering one's thirties—the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs—where characters must re-evaluate their careers, love lives, and personal expectations. As Nan-hee struggles with an unrequited crush on her university senior and Hyung-tae navigates his complicated relationships, they slowly realize that the person who has always been by their side might just be their true match. Through humor, heartache, and relatable slice-of-life conflicts, the drama explores the complexities of modern adulthood and mature romance.
