9.99 Criminal Lawyer

9.99 Criminal Lawyer follows the unconventional and eccentric lawyer Hiroto Miyama, who specializes in criminal cases. In Japan, the conviction rate for criminal cases is 99.9 percent, making it nearly impossible to prove a defendant's innocence once they are indicted. Miyama, however, is obsessed with uncovering the remaining 0.01 percent of the truth, often going to extreme lengths to investigate crime scenes and re-examine evidence that the police and prosecutors have overlooked. Joined by a team of dedicated legal professionals at the Madarame Law Firm, Miyama navigates complex cases where the odds are stacked against his clients. The series blends procedural legal drama with lighthearted character dynamics, focusing on the team's collaborative efforts to challenge the status quo of the Japanese judicial system and ensure that justice is served, even when the truth seems buried under bureaucratic certainty.
