Aho Girl follows the daily life of Yoshiko Hanabatake, a high school girl who is aggressively, brilliantly stupid. Scoring zero on every test and obsessed to an unhealthy degree with bananas, Yoshiko constantly tests the patience of her studious, responsible childhood friend Akuru Akutsu—whom she affectionately and annoyingly calls 'A-kun.' While Akuru tries his best to study and live a normal life, Yoshiko's boundless energy and complete lack of common sense drag him into one absurd situation after another. Along the way, they are joined by an increasingly eccentric supporting cast, including a bewildered disciplinary committee member, an observant neighborhood girl, and a delinquent who falls under Yoshiko's bizarre spell. The series delivers fast-paced, slapstick comedy built entirely around the relentless exasperation of trying to educate the uneducable.
