American Horror Story: Freak Show

Set in 1952 Jupiter, Florida, the fourth season of the FX horror anthology series centers around one of the last remaining freak shows in the United States, run by the ambitious and desperate Elsa Mars. As the troupe struggles to stay in business amid changing times and societal prejudices, a dark and malevolent entity begins terrorizing the quiet town, threatening both the townsfolk and the unusual performers. The season explores the blurred lines between who is considered a 'freak' and who is truly monstrous, weaving themes of exploitation, survival, and fame. Key characters include Elsa Mars, a German expatriate harboring dark secrets; Bette and Dot Tattler, conjoined twins with very distinct personalities; Jimmy Darling, a young man with lobster-like hands fighting for his family; and Gloria and Dandy Mott, a wealthy mother and her psychopathic, spoiled son who become dangerously obsessed with the troupe. As blood is shed and secrets are uncovered, the performers must fight to protect their unique community.
