Co-created by and starring Golden Globe winner Awkwafina, 'Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens' is a semi-autobiographical comedy series that follows Nora Lin, a young woman living in Flushing, Queens, with her dad and grandmother. As she navigates young adulthood, Nora is a directionless dreamer trying to figure out her life path while dealing with various odd jobs, awkward social encounters, and her eccentric family. Throughout the series, Nora relies on the support—and tests the patience—of her doting father Wally, her successful and level-headed cousin Edmund, and her unfiltered, fiercely protective Grandma. As she stumbles from one misadventure to another, the show explores themes of identity, family expectations, and the chaotic charm of outer-borough New York life, blending absurd humor with heartfelt family dynamics.
