Beast Machines: Transformers

Picking up immediately after the events of Beast Wars, the Maximals return to their home planet of Cybertron only to find it desolate and under the control of their arch-nemesis, Megatron. The planet has been stripped of all organic life, and the Maximals find themselves trapped in techno-organic bodies, stripped of their memories and their ability to transform. Led by a traumatized Optimus Primal, the group must navigate a cold, mechanical world while struggling to balance their technological forms with the organic 'sparks' that define their existence. As the series progresses, the Maximals discover that Megatron has initiated a 'reformatting' process to turn Cybertron into a purely mechanical utopia, effectively killing the planet's organic soul. The conflict evolves into a philosophical and spiritual battle between the cold, calculated order of the Vehicons and the chaotic, life-affirming nature of the Maximals. Along the way, the heroes must confront their own inner demons and the true nature of their creator, Primus, in a desperate bid to save their world from total extinction.
