Beijing Youth

Beijing Youth follows the story of four cousins—He Dong, He Xi, He Nan, and He Bei—who, despite having stable lives and promising careers in the bustling metropolis of Beijing, feel stifled by the expectations of their families and society. On the day of his wedding, the eldest cousin, He Dong, makes a spontaneous decision to abandon his stable job and his fiancée to pursue a life of freedom and self-discovery. This act of rebellion triggers a chain reaction, leading his three cousins to join him on a cross-country journey of growth and transformation. As the group travels across China, they encounter various challenges, hardships, and diverse people that force them to confront their own immaturity and lack of direction. Through their experiences in different cities, they learn the true meaning of independence, responsibility, and love. The series serves as a poignant exploration of the 'post-80s' generation in China, highlighting the struggle between traditional familial obligations and the modern desire for individual identity.
