Billions is a complex, high-stakes drama set in the world of New York City high finance and politics. The series centers on the intense cat-and-mouse game between Bobby 'Axe' Axelrod, a brilliant and ruthless hedge fund kingpin, and Chuck Rhoades, a tenacious and politically ambitious U.S. Attorney. As Axelrod navigates the murky waters of insider trading and market manipulation to grow his fortune, Rhoades relentlessly pursues him, seeking to build a case that will define his career and secure his political future. At the heart of their conflict is Wendy Rhoades, a highly skilled performance coach at Axe Capital and Chuck's wife, whose professional loyalty and personal marriage are constantly tested by the warring men. As the series progresses, the scope expands to include shifting alliances, corporate espionage, and the corrupting influence of extreme wealth, forcing both men to confront the moral costs of their obsession with winning at any price.
