Inspired by actual events, Black Bird follows Jimmy Keene, a high school football hero and decorated policeman's son who is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum-security prison. He is given a choice: enter a maximum-security prison for the criminally insane and befriend suspected serial killer Larry Hall, or stay where he is and serve his full sentence without parole. Keene realizes his only way out is to elicit a confession from Hall and find out where the bodies of several young girls are buried before Hall's appeal goes through. This psychological thriller explores the dark, complex relationship between Keene and Hall as they navigate the claustrophobic environment of the prison. As Keene attempts to manipulate Hall into revealing his secrets, he finds himself increasingly unsettled by the killer's chilling demeanor and the blurred lines between truth and deception. The series is a tense, character-driven drama that examines the nature of evil and the lengths one man will go to for redemption.
