#BlackAF

#blackAF is a mockumentary-style sitcom created by Kenya Barris, who stars as a fictionalized version of himself. The series follows the lives of a wealthy, successful Black family navigating the complexities of modern life, fame, and parenting. By breaking the fourth wall, the show offers a satirical look at the 'new money' experience, exploring themes of cultural identity, privilege, and the generational gaps within a family trying to maintain their roots while living in a predominantly white, affluent world. The narrative centers on the dynamic between Kenya and his wife, Joya, as they attempt to raise their six children with a mix of traditional values and the realities of their privileged lifestyle. The show frequently tackles social commentary on race and class, often using humor to dissect the contradictions of being 'Black enough' while achieving massive success in Hollywood. The series is known for its candid, often chaotic, and unfiltered approach to family life.
