Created by Terry Nation, 'Blake's 7' is a British science fiction television series that aired on BBC1 from 1978 to 1981. The story follows Roj Blake, an idealistic political dissident who is framed by the oppressive, totalitarian Terran Federation and exiled to a prison colony planet. On the journey, Blake and a group of fellow convicts manage to take control of an advanced, alien spacecraft of immense power, which they name the Liberator. Operating from the vessel, Blake forms a rebel cell dedicated to fighting the Federation and awakening the oppressed masses. Along the way, the crew acquires a rotating roster of rogues, thieves, and opportunists—most notably the cunning, self-serving smuggler Avon. As the series progresses, the conflict with the Federation escalates, driven by the ruthless Supreme Commander Servalan and the fanatical Travis, leading into deep themes of paranoia, corruption, and the tragic cost of rebellion.
