Bodyguard follows the story of David Budd, a heroic but volatile war veteran now working as a Specialist Protection Officer for the London Metropolitan Police Service. He is assigned to protect the ambitious and controversial Home Secretary, Julia Montague, whose politics represent everything he despises. As he finds himself torn between his duty and his beliefs, Budd becomes a lightning rod for the intense political pressures and security threats facing the government. The series evolves into a high-stakes political thriller as Budd navigates a web of conspiracy, corruption, and terrorism. Struggling with PTSD and the complexities of his assignment, he must determine who he can trust when the very people he is sworn to protect may be involved in a dangerous game of power. The narrative masterfully blends intimate character study with pulse-pounding suspense, questioning the cost of loyalty in a fractured society.
