BORDER follows Ango Ishikawa, a brilliant but cynical detective who is shot in the head while investigating a crime scene. He survives the bullet, which remains lodged in his brain, but the trauma grants him the supernatural ability to communicate with the spirits of murder victims. This newfound power forces him to confront the limitations of the law as he seeks justice for those who can no longer speak for themselves. As Ishikawa navigates the moral gray area between the living and the dead, he becomes increasingly obsessed with solving cases, often resorting to unconventional and ethically questionable methods. The series explores the psychological toll of his condition and the philosophical conflict between his duty as a police officer and the dark, seductive nature of his ability to bypass the judicial system.
