Bron/Broen

The series begins with a body found exactly on the border between Sweden and Denmark, on the Øresund Bridge. The corpse is actually two halves of two different women, forcing Swedish detective Saga Norén and Danish inspector Martin Rohde to collaborate on a joint investigation. As the case unfolds, the duo discovers that the killer is orchestrating a series of elaborate crimes to highlight social issues in both countries, creating a complex cat-and-mouse game that challenges their professional and personal boundaries. Over four seasons, the show evolves from a procedural thriller into a deep character study, particularly focusing on Saga Norén, a brilliant detective with Asperger's syndrome who struggles with social cues and empathy. The series is renowned for its bleak Nordic noir atmosphere, intricate plotting, and the evolving, often strained, partnership between the two leads as they navigate corruption, personal tragedy, and systemic failures across the Scandinavian border.
