Captain Planet and the Planeteers

Gaia, the spirit of the Earth, can no longer stand the terrible destruction plaguing the planet. She sends five magical rings to five special youths from around the globe: Kwame from Africa, Wheeler from North America, Linka from Eastern Europe, Gi from Asia, and Ma-Ti from South America. These teenagers, known as the Planeteers, can combine their powers to summon a champion of environmental protection: Captain Planet. Together, the Planeteers fight against a colorful rogue's gallery of eco-villains—such as Hoggish Greedly, Verminous Skumm, and Dr. Blight—who represent pollution, greed, and the destruction of nature. When environmental disasters escalate beyond the Planeteers' individual capabilities, they use their rings to invoke Captain Planet, whose catchphrase 'The Power is Yours!' empowers viewers to take real-world action to save the environment.
