Castle Rock

Castle Rock is a psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, combining the mythos and character scales of the author's best-loved works, while weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional town of Castle Rock, Maine, serves as the nexus for a series of unsettling, strange, and supernatural occurrences involving familiar institutions and tormented individuals from King's extensive literary canon. In the first season, death-row attorney Henry Deaver returns to his hometown of Castle Rock after receiving a mysterious phone call from an anonymous inmate discovered in a cage beneath the notorious Shawshank State Penitentiary. Known only as "The Kid," this silent young man upends the town, unleashing bizarre phenomena and dredging up dark psychological trauma for Henry and the remaining townspeople. The second season pivots to an anthology format, serving as a psychological prequel focusing on the origins of the psychotic nurse Annie Wilkes from Misery, as she gets stranded in Castle Rock amidst a brewing feud between rival local clans.
