"Check Out the Event" is a heartfelt melodrama that follows Ha Song-yi, a coordinator at a botanical garden who is struggling to get over her sudden breakup with her long-time boyfriend, Park Do-gyeom. Unwilling to let go easily and hoping to win a fully-funded couples' trip to Jeju Island that they had previously won together, Song-yi and Do-gyeom decide to fake being a happy couple for the duration of the travel program. As they embark on the trip alongside other couples with their own secrets and struggles, old feelings, unresolved resentment, and hidden truths begin to surface. Hosted by a quirky tour guide, the trip forces both Song-yi and Do-gyeom to confront the reality of their relationship, leading to emotional healing, closure, and unexpected revelations about what truly tore them apart.
