Cleverman Season 1

Set in a near-future Australia, Cleverman weaves together Indigenous mythology and a gritty sci-fi narrative. The story revolves around two estranged brothers, Koen and Waruu West, who are forced to fight for survival in a world where non-humans—known as "Hairies"—live among humans, facing severe marginalization, government detention, and violence by the containment authority known as the SCA. As the social and political tension reaches a boiling point, an aging elder passes on the mantle of the "Cleverman"—a powerful, mythic warrior meant to bridge the mortal and spirit realms—to the reluctant Koen. While Koen struggles to accept his newfound mystical responsibilities and protect both humans and Hairies, his ambitious brother Waruu seeks the power for himself, leading to a bitter family feud that could determine the fate of humanity and ancient spirits alike.
