Cleverman Season 2

Set in a near-future dystopian Australia, Season 2 of Cleverman delves deeper into the societal fracture and government oppression surrounding the Subhumans (The Hairypeople) and ordinary humans. Koen West, the reluctant Cleverman, struggles with the immense weight of his powers and the heavy legacy of his ancestors while trying to protect his people from the nefarious, state-backed Containment Authority led by the ruthless Sterling. Meanwhile, Koen's brother Waruu continues his treacherous pursuit of power, setting the stage for a massive conflict that blurs the lines between mythology, science, and survival. As the government's true, insidious intentions with the Subhumans are brought to light through horrific genetic experiments, unlikely alliances form. The series weaves Indigenous Australian mythology into a gritty sci-fi narrative, exploring themes of racism, refugees, exploitation, and the fight for bodily autonomy. With the emergence of a new Cleverman and ancient forces awakening, the destiny of both species hangs in the balance as the characters are pushed to their absolute limits.
