Code 404

Code 404 is a British sci-fi police procedural comedy that follows Detective Inspector John Major, the top crime fighter in the Special Investigation Unit, who is killed in the line of duty. In a groundbreaking experiment, he is brought back to life using experimental AI technology. However, the resurrection process is flawed, leaving Major with a personality that is a glitchy, overconfident, and socially inept version of his former self. As Major attempts to resume his career alongside his former partner and best friend, Detective Roy Carver, he struggles to navigate both his professional responsibilities and his complicated personal life. Carver, who has been carrying on a relationship with Major's widow, Kelly, finds himself in an increasingly awkward position as his partner returns from the grave. The series blends high-stakes police work with slapstick humor and existential questions about identity and humanity.
