Created by and starring Pete Holmes, 'Crashing' is a semi-autobiographical comedy series that follows Pete, a sweet, earnest, and deeply naive aspiring stand-up comedian whose life is upended when he discovers his wife cheating on him. Left homeless and broken, Pete is forced to crash on the couches of various friends, acquaintances, and reluctant comedy veterans across New York City. Throughout the series, Pete navigates the brutal, often cynical world of the NYC stand-up comedy scene. Along the way, he encounters seasoned comics like Artie Lange, forms complicated bonds with fellow struggling comedians like Leif and Ali, and undergoes a profound personal and professional evolution. As he trades his sheltered Christian upbringing and failing marriage for the gritty realities of the comedy underground, Pete must learn how to find his authentic voice both on and off the stage.
