The story continues to follow Kokonotsu Shikada, an aspiring manga artist who is continually pressured by his father to inherit the family's rural dagashi shop, and Hotaru Shidare, the bizarre yet passionate company heiress obsessed with getting Kokonotsu to take over the store. This season introduces new characters like the free-spirited Hajime Owari, adding fresh dynamics to the candy store. Through comedy, daily slice-of-life interactions, and detailed historical trivia about classic Japanese sweets, the characters explore their friendships, dreams, and the bittersweet nature of growing up.
