Danger Man is a classic British espionage television series that follows the adventures of John Drake, a suave and resourceful secret agent working for an unspecified NATO intelligence agency (often associated with MI9 or a similar branch). Unlike many spies of his era, Drake frequently relies on his wits, psychological tactics, and martial arts rather than a heavy arsenal of lethal gadgets, often aiming to resolve international conflicts peacefully or through exposure rather than violence. Spanning multiple seasons and formats—initially as half-hour episodes before expanding to hour-long dramas—the series took Drake to exotic locations across the globe, tackling Cold War tensions, industrial espionage, and international syndicates. John Drake's distinct moral compass and charm set a new standard for television spies, paving the way for later iconic secret agents.
