Defending Jacob

Set in a suburban Massachusetts town, the series follows Andy Barber, a respected assistant district attorney whose world is upended when his 14-year-old son, Jacob, is accused of murdering a classmate. As the trial progresses, family secrets, dark histories, and a disturbing genetic predisposition for violence come to light, forcing Andy and his wife, Laurie, to question everything they thought they knew about their only child. Based on William Landay's 2012 bestselling novel of the same name, the legal drama delves deep into themes of parental loyalty, nature versus nurture, and the agonizing weight of doubt. While Andy fights desperately to protect his son through the legal system, Laurie begins to unravel under the psychological pressure of a potential monster living under her own roof, culminating in a tense and ambiguous examination of guilt and innocence.
