Defying Gravity

Defying Gravity is a science fiction drama that follows the crew of the Antares, an international spacecraft on a six-year, multi-planet tour of the solar system. The mission is ostensibly a scientific endeavor, but the crew members are haunted by a failed mission from years prior and the mysterious influence of a sentient, extraterrestrial force known as 'Beta'. As they travel, the crew must navigate complex interpersonal relationships, psychological strain, and the secrets kept by the mission's controllers back on Earth. The narrative utilizes a dual-timeline structure, alternating between the present-day mission and flashbacks to the rigorous training program that selected the crew. These flashbacks reveal the hidden agendas, romantic entanglements, and the true, classified purpose of the mission. As the Antares reaches further into the solar system, the line between scientific discovery and existential threat blurs, forcing the crew to question their sanity and the nature of the entity they are encountering.
