Disjointed is an American sitcom created by Chuck Lorre and David Javerbaum that stars Kathy Bates as Ruth Whitefeather Feldman, a lifelong advocate for legalizing cannabis who finally realizes her dream of owning a medical marijuana dispensary in Los Angeles. Alongside her newly minted 'budtenders', her recently graduated son, and a deeply troubled security guard, Ruth dispenses cannabis and wisdom to help her eclectic clientele. The series explores the trials, tribulations, and comedic moments of running a legal weed shop following legalization in California. While lighthearted and heavy on stoner comedy tropes, the show also touches upon the therapeutic benefits of cannabis, particularly through the eyes of military veterans suffering from PTSD, alongside animated musical interludes that reflect the characters' high states of mind.
