Set in the 21st century, the Earth relies on T-Mat, a revolutionary teleportation system that transports matter instantly across the globe. When the T-Mat system on the Moon base mysteriously fails, the Second Doctor, Jamie McCrimmon, and Zoe Heriot arrive to investigate. They discover that the facility has been infiltrated by the Ice Warriors, a warlike Martian race intent on using the T-Mat network to distribute deadly seed pods that will terraform Earth into a cold, inhospitable environment suitable only for their kind. As the Ice Warriors seize control of the Moon base and cut off Earth's communications, the Doctor must navigate the political tensions between the base commanders and the desperate scientists. With the clock ticking and the atmosphere of Earth beginning to change, the Doctor and his companions must find a way to disable the T-Mat relay and defeat the Martian invaders before the planet is permanently transformed into an icy wasteland.
