Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan

Hisone Amakasu is a straightforward and innocent rookie member of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force who struggles with her inability to be honest with her feelings, often leading to social friction. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she is stationed at the Gifu Air Base and is chosen by a hidden dragon—disguised as a fighter jet—to be its pilot. This discovery pulls her into the secret world of the Dragon Pilots, a clandestine group tasked with maintaining the ancient bond between humans and dragons. As Hisone navigates the complexities of her new role, she must learn to trust her dragon, Masotan, and reconcile her own emotional barriers. The series explores themes of self-discovery, duty, and the profound connection between pilot and beast, all while balancing the whimsical nature of the dragons with the rigid, bureaucratic structure of the military. Alongside other pilots, Hisone faces the challenges of flight, the weight of tradition, and the unexpected romantic and personal growth that comes with being a dragon rider.
