Drifters

Drifters is a British television sitcom that follows the lives of three young women—cousins Meg and Bunny, and their friend Laura—as they navigate the messy, often humiliating realities of adulthood in Leeds. After returning from a gap year, Meg finds herself struggling to find a career path, leading to a series of disastrous jobs and awkward social encounters. The trio constantly finds themselves in absurd situations, dealing with eccentric bosses, failed romantic pursuits, and the crushing realization that their post-university lives are not quite the glamorous adventures they envisioned. The series is characterized by its cringe-comedy style and sharp, observational humor regarding the struggles of the millennial generation. As the characters attempt to climb the social and professional ladder, their lack of direction and questionable decision-making skills often lead to chaotic outcomes. Through their shared failures and constant bickering, the show explores the enduring, albeit dysfunctional, bond of female friendship amidst the backdrop of modern economic uncertainty.
