Empire of Gold

Set against the backdrop of the explosive economic boom in South Korea from the early 1990s to the 2010s, "Empire of Gold" chronicles the ruthless, high-stakes power struggle within a chaebol family. The narrative centers on Jang Tae-joo, an ambitious man who rises from the absolute bottom of poverty to challenge the mighty Sungjin Group, a massive conglomerate controlled by the charismatic and calculating Choi family. Driven by a desire for revenge and ultimate dominance, Tae-joo goes head-to-head with Choi Seo-yoon, the brilliant and unyielding daughter of the group's chairman. As the battle for control intensifies, the series explores the corrupting nature of money, power, and familial betrayal. Alliances are forged and shattered overnight as corporate espionage, political maneuvering, and legal warfare push the characters to their moral limits. "Empire of Gold" is a gripping Shakespearean tragedy disguised as a modern corporate thriller, highlighting the devastating human cost of the relentless pursuit of wealth.
