Escape at Dannemora is a gripping limited series based on the true story of the 2015 prison break at the Clinton Correctional Facility in upstate New York. The plot follows Tilly Mitchell, a married prison employee who becomes romantically entangled with two convicted murderers, Richard Matt and David Sweat. As the trio grows closer, Tilly finds herself manipulated into assisting the inmates with a complex and daring escape plan that triggers a massive statewide manhunt. The series meticulously explores the psychological dynamics between the three protagonists and the systemic failures within the prison walls. Directed by Ben Stiller, the show delves into the mundane, claustrophobic reality of prison life and the desperate, often misguided motivations that lead individuals to commit life-altering crimes. It is a tense character study that balances the procedural elements of the escape with the unraveling personal lives of those involved.
