Fairly Secret Army

Fairly Secret Army is a British comedy television series created by Sharon Horgan and Paul Duane, serving as a spiritual successor or continuation of the character Jack Barker from The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret. The series follows Jack Barker, a delusional, self-proclaimed counter-terrorism expert who attempts to set up his own private military organization to fight domestic and international threats. With a profound lack of actual competence, outdated Cold War tactics, and a thoroughly bewildered team, Jack stumbles from one ill-advised mission to another. As Jack tries to recruit and train a new generation of freelance patriots, he constantly clashes with modern bureaucratic realities, his own ineptitude, and the skeptical people around him. The show satirizes private security firms, toxic masculinity, and misplaced patriotism, delivering sharp, cringe-inducing comedy through its central character's unwavering self-delusion.
