When the newly crowned King Gongmin's queen is critically wounded, the King orders Choi Young to travel through a mystical portal to the future to find a legendary healer. He arrives in modern-day Seoul and kidnaps Yoo Eun-soo, a plastic surgeon, believing her to be the divine doctor sent by heaven. As Eun-soo is thrust into the dangerous political landscape of the 14th century, she must navigate court intrigue, assassination attempts, and the struggle for power between the King and the corrupt nobleman Gi Cheol. While she initially seeks a way back to her own time, she finds herself falling for the weary, honorable warrior Choi Young, whose life is forever changed by her presence.
