Foundation

Series Overview

Based on the award-winning novels by Isaac Asimov, Foundation chronicles a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire. The story centers on Dr. Hari Seldon, a mathematician who develops 'psychohistory,' a science capable of predicting the future, and his realization that the Empire is on the brink of an inevitable collapse that will plunge the galaxy into a dark age lasting thirty thousand years. To preserve knowledge and shorten this period of chaos, Seldon establishes the Foundation, a colony at the edge of the galaxy. The series spans centuries, following key figures like Gaal Dornick, Salvor Hardin, and the clones of Emperor Cleon, as they navigate political intrigue, religious fervor, and the clash between individual agency and the deterministic nature of Seldon's grand plan.
