Gold Panning

Set in the 1980s, 'Gold Panning' follows the journey of Chen Baojin, a young man who travels to the remote Jinsha Ridge in search of his missing brother. Upon arrival, he finds himself thrust into a lawless, high-stakes environment where gold miners operate under dangerous conditions, governed by their own brutal set of rules and hidden hierarchies. As he navigates the treacherous terrain and the even more treacherous social dynamics, he discovers that the search for gold is inextricably linked to a series of mysterious disappearances and long-buried secrets. As Chen Baojin delves deeper into the mining community, he forms uneasy alliances with veteran miners and enigmatic figures who have their own agendas.
