Growing Up Fisher is an American single-camera sitcom that revolves around the Fisher family, narrated by the youngest son, Henry. The central premise follows the unexpected upheaval in the household when Mel, a blind lawyer, suddenly announces he is divorcing his wife, Joyce. Despite losing his sight, Mel is fiercely independent and eager to embrace a newfound lease on life, often dragging his reluctant children into his adventurous and unpredictable exploits. Meanwhile, Joyce attempts to restart her own life after years of being a homemaker, leading to a humorous and heartfelt look at modern divorce and co-parenting. The series explores the chaotic dynamics of a family adjusting to a new normal. As Mel navigates the world with his newly acquired guide dog, Elvis, and Henry tries to cope with his parents' separation alongside his older sister Katie, the Fishers learn that breaking apart doesn't mean they stop being a family. Created by DJ Nash and featuring J.K. Simmons' trademark wit and warmth, the show blends laugh-out-loud comedy with genuine emotional resonance.
