Five years ago, a mysterious plague wiped out almost everyone in the village of Ootsuka, leaving only three survivors: Shino Inuzuka, Sosuke Inukawa, and Hamaji. The three now live in seclusion, protected by the church, but the secret of their survival is tied to the legendary eight beads of the demon dog. When the Imperial Church attempts to seize the power of the beads, Shino and his companions are thrust into a dangerous journey to find the other bearers of the beads. As the group travels, they encounter various supernatural threats and uncover the dark history behind their own existence. Shino, who possesses the power of the Murasame blade, must navigate his complicated relationship with Sosuke and the growing number of allies who share the mark of the eight dogs. The series blends supernatural action with character-driven drama as the protagonists fight to protect their lives and uncover the truth behind the curse that binds them.
