Hard to Say I Love You

Hard to Say I Love You follows the lives of five young people who meet through the social networking service Twitter. Living in Tokyo, each character struggles with their own personal insecurities, professional failures, and complicated romantic entanglements. As they transition from online anonymity to real-life friendship, they find that expressing their true feelings—especially love—is far more difficult in person than behind a screen. The series explores the complexities of modern communication and the pressure to maintain a facade of happiness in a competitive society. Nakaji, a struggling photographer, and Haru, a part-time teacher, anchor the group as they navigate heartbreak, career instability, and the fear of vulnerability. Through their shared experiences, the group learns that true connection requires the courage to be honest, even when it hurts.
