Heartless City is a gritty, noir-inspired crime drama that follows the dangerous underworld of drug trafficking in Seoul. The story centers on Jung Shi-hyun, a man who rises through the ranks of a powerful drug cartel to become a feared kingpin known as 'Doctor's Son.' However, his true identity is a deep-cover operative, and he finds himself caught in a lethal game of cat-and-mouse between the police force and the criminal syndicate he is trying to dismantle. As the investigation intensifies, the lines between justice and corruption become increasingly indistinguishable. Shi-hyun must navigate betrayal, shifting loyalties, and a complicated romance with Yoon Soo-min, a woman who is unknowingly connected to the very world he is fighting. The series is renowned for its dark atmosphere, complex moral dilemmas, and high-stakes action sequences that redefine the South Korean crime thriller genre.
