Heartstrings

Heartstrings is a 2011 South Korean television drama that follows the lives of ambitious students attending a prestigious performing arts university. Lee Shin is a handsome, arrogant college student who is the lead vocalist and guitarist of the campus band 'The Stupid', deeply passionate only about modern music. In stark contrast, Lee Gyu-won is a bright, cheerful student majoring in traditional Korean music, specifically the gayageum, hailing from a family of renowned traditional musicians. When their worlds collide, they initially clash over their differing musical tastes and personalities, leading to mutual misunderstandings. As they are forced to work together on the university's 100th-anniversary commemorative musical production, their dynamic shifts. Through late-night rehearsals, creative struggles, and personal setbacks, the two gradually learn to appreciate each other's art forms and develop deep romantic feelings. Alongside their friends, professors, and rivals, Shin and Gyu-won navigate the trials of youth, artistic expression, and unrequited love, ultimately finding their true paths in both music and life.
