Hi-de-Hi!

Set in the late 1950s, Hi-de-Hi! follows the lives of the staff at Maplin's, a fictional holiday camp in the seaside town of Crimpton-on-Sea. The series centers on Jeffrey Fairbrother, a stuffy, high-brow Cambridge archaeology professor who unexpectedly finds himself managing the camp, much to the bewilderment of the existing staff and the amusement of the audience. He struggles to adapt to the chaotic, low-brow world of holiday entertainment while dealing with the eccentric personalities of the camp's staff. The show thrives on the clash between the refined Fairbrother and the colorful, often desperate characters who run the camp, including the cynical entertainer Ted Bovis, the ambitious chalet maid Peggy Ollerenshaw, and the formidable sports organizer Fred Quilly.
