High Ground

Set against the rugged and unforgiving backdrop of the Australian Outback, "High Ground" is a gripping historical drama series that delves into the brutal frontier conflicts of the early 20th century. The narrative centers on Gutjuk, a young Aboriginal man who is spared in a massacre by a former World War I sniper named Travis. Years later, when violence erupts once again in the region, Travis is forced to enlist Gutjuk's help to track down Baywara, a dangerous warrior and Gutjuk's uncle, who is leading a bloody vendetta against the white settlers. As the two men journey deep into the untamed territory, the series explores complex themes of displacement, cultural identity, justice, and the heavy moral cost of colonization. Bound by a fragile alliance, Travis and Gutjuk must navigate treacherous landscapes and their own haunted pasts. Their pursuit ultimately forces both men to confront harsh truths about loyalty, survival, and the possibility of reconciliation in a fractured land.
