History Cold Case

History Cold Case is a British television documentary series broadcast on BBC Two, featuring Professor Sue Black and her team of forensic anthropologists from the University of Dundee. The series applies cutting-edge forensic science, archaeological techniques, and facial reconstruction to ancient and historical human skeletal remains to uncover who they were, how they lived, and crucially, how they died. Across the series, the team investigates intriguing cases ranging from medieval plague victims and Roman soldiers to forgotten murder victims of centuries past. By examining trauma on bones, stable isotopes in teeth, and material culture buried alongside the skeletons, the experts bridge the gap between archaeology and modern crime scene investigation, offering a deeply human perspective on the historical dead.
