Hit the Top follows the story of Yoo Hyun-jae, a popular but controversial idol from the 1990s who accidentally travels through time to the year 2017. Disoriented and struggling to adapt to the modern world, he discovers that he has been presumed dead in his own time. He eventually crosses paths with Lee Ji-hoon, an aspiring idol trainee who is hiding his true ambitions from his parents, and Choi Woo-seung, a diligent civil service exam student. As the trio begins to live together, the series explores themes of youth, dreams, and the complexities of family relationships. Hyun-jae attempts to uncover the truth behind his disappearance while helping Ji-hoon and Woo-seung navigate the harsh realities of their own lives. The drama blends comedy, romance, and music, highlighting the generational gap between the 90s pop culture era and the competitive modern entertainment industry.
