Hold the Sunset is a British sitcom that follows the lives of Edith and Phil, two retirees who are finally ready to embark on a new chapter of their lives together. After years of friendship, they decide to get married and move to a sunnier climate, hoping to leave their past responsibilities behind. However, their plans are constantly thwarted by the unexpected return of Edith's middle-aged son, Roger, who moves back home following the collapse of his marriage and his business. The series centers on the comedic friction between the couple's desire for peace and the chaotic, demanding presence of Roger. As Phil struggles to maintain his patience and his relationship with Edith, the household becomes a battleground of generational clashes, petty grievances, and the intrusive nature of family dynamics. The show explores themes of aging, the complexities of adult children, and the persistent hope for a quiet, happy retirement.
