Horace and Pete is a tragicomic web series created, written, and directed by Louis C.K. The story is set in a century-old Brooklyn bar named 'Horace and Pete's,' which has been passed down through generations of men named Horace and Pete. The series centers on the current owners, Horace (Louis C.K.) and his brother Pete (Steve Buscemi), as they struggle to maintain the crumbling establishment while navigating their own personal demons, mental health issues, and complex family dynamics. The show functions as a modern-day stage play, often featuring long, dialogue-heavy scenes that explore themes of grief, politics, addiction, and the weight of generational trauma. As the series progresses, the bar becomes a microcosm for the American experience, with the regulars and family members engaging in intense, often uncomfortable debates that reveal the deep-seated fractures within their relationships and the society at large.
