Idol Shadows plunges into the cutthroat, high-stakes world of the South Korean entertainment industry, peeling back the glossy veneer of K-pop stardom to expose the psychological toll, ruthless exploitation, and corporate corruption beneath. The series centers on Kang Seo-joon, a disgraced former top-tier idol producer who attempts to redeem his reputation by launching a raw, underground trainee group that refuses to play by the industry's toxic rules. Standing in his way is Han Ji-hyun, the formidable and calculating director of Star-Peak Entertainment, who will stop at nothing to protect her agency's monopoly and monopoly-driven perfection. As the trainees navigate brutal monthly evaluations, relentless public scrutiny, and the resurfacing of dark secrets from their pasts, alliances fracture and trust becomes a luxury nobody can afford. The central conflict intensifies when a mysterious whistleblowing campaign threatens to expose a major cover-up involving an idol's sudden disappearance from years prior. Seo-joon and his trainees must untangle a web of lies, blackmail, and corporate greed before they become the next casualties of the fame machine.
