In A Good Way

Overview

Set in 1995 against the backdrop of Taiwan's democratization, rising campus movements, and the advent of the internet, "In A Good Way" follows Lin Jia-en, a country girl who moves to Taipei to follow her childhood friend and crush, Liu Shan-feng. Unprepared for the bustling city life and failing her college entrance exams, she feels lost until she meets Liu Chuan, a brilliant, charismatic law student and campus leader. Liu Chuan introduces her to the "Treasure Hunting Club" and opens her eyes to a world of intellectual freedom, activism, and self-discovery. As Jia-en and Liu Chuan grow closer, they navigate the complexities of youth, academic pressure, and familial expectations, particularly dealing with Liu Chuan's strict father who is a prominent politician. Alongside their tight-knit group of friends—including the bubbly Zheng Shu-min and the loyal Ah-qing—the series explores the bittersweet transition into adulthood. The central romance develops organically through mutual support, shared ideals, and emotional growth, capturing the nostalgic essence of college life in a rapidly changing era.
