Innocent Days

Innocent Days follows the story of Yuichi Sasaki, a man sentenced to death for burning down his ex-girlfriend's house, resulting in her death. Shinichi Tanaka, a childhood friend of Yuichi, is deeply shaken by the verdict and becomes convinced that there is more to the story than what was presented in court. Driven by a sense of duty and lingering guilt, Shinichi embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind Yuichi's life and the events leading up to the tragedy. As Shinichi delves deeper into Yuichi's past, he encounters various people who were part of Yuichi's life, slowly piecing together a complex narrative of loneliness, misunderstanding, and hidden pain. The series explores themes of justice, the fallibility of the legal system, and the profound impact of childhood connections, ultimately questioning whether the death penalty is truly the answer for a man whose life was defined by circumstances beyond his control.
